PROGRAMS & INFORMATION

We strive to be an Early Childhood Program that:

  • Establishes positive and responsive relationships with children and their families.

  • Provides an environment and experiences for children to explore ideas, investigate theories and interact with others in play.

  • Engages with families and supports each child within the context of his or her family.

  • Provides ongoing opportunities for our educators to engage in continuous professional learning.

The key goals of our program are:

  • To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in our care by ensuring that all teachers coming to work for us are trained and have opportunities for ongoing training. Teachers also communicate effectively with families.

  • Encourage positive communication and self-regulation amongst children and families in our care through positive daily communication, meetings, tadpole reports, newsletters, and our open-door policy.

  • Foster children’s exploration, play, and inquiry by allowing them to take part in open-ended learning experiences, opportunities for outdoor exploration, and outside programs such as our music program and our sports programs.

  • Having a supportive program that is child-initiated and adult-supported through daily child-initiated play, experiences and structured learning lessons.

  • Creating a positive, nurturing learning environment, rich in materials where learning is supported. Incorporating indoor and outdoor play as well as active play, rest time, and quiet time into the day. Considering the individual needs of children by creating developmentally appropriate learning experiences, activities, and lessons.

  • Foster strong parent communication through day-to-day communication both in person and via our Tadpoles app which provides electronic daily reports that include pictures and videos.

At Careplay Academy we provide an environment that fosters curiosity, encourages children to ask questions, and is filled with incredible play-based learning materials. We believe that children deserve to be in a safe, caring, and supportive environment to reach their maximum potential.

Careplay understands that for a child to be successful, families, teachers, and children must all work together to build a rich environment for learning with open and honest communication.

Rest

Rest time is an important part of each child’s day at Careplay, providing a quiet, peaceful break to recharge and refresh. During this period, children are encouraged to rest on their mats in a calm environment, allowing their bodies and minds to relax. While some children may nap, others may simply enjoy quiet activities like looking at books or resting with their eyes closed. Our caregivers ensure a soothing atmosphere with soft music, dim lighting, and gentle routines to help children unwind. Rest time supports healthy growth, emotional well-being, and re-energizes children for the rest of their busy day. We respect each child’s individual needs, understanding that rest is essential for their overall development and well-being.

Mealtime

Meal time at Playcare is not only a chance for children to refuel but also an opportunity to build healthy habits, practice social skills, and engage in independent routines. During mealtime, children sit together in small groups, where they can enjoy nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks while chatting with their friends and caregivers. It’s a moment for children to develop good table manners, learn about healthy food choices, and practice sharing and communication. Snacks are often followed by a brief story or quiet activity, giving kids a chance to relax and recharge before jumping back into the day’s activities. We encourage a calm, positive environment where children feel comfortable and cared for, all while supporting their growing bodies and minds. Food at CarePlay with always be healthy, culturally diverse and child friendly so that children eat well therefore we nourish our children properly,

Active Play

Active play is an essential part of a child’s development, and at Careplay we prioritize opportunities for children to engage in physical activity throughout the day. Whether it’s running, jumping, climbing, or dancing, active play helps children build strength, coordination, and confidence while also fostering social skills and teamwork. Our safe, spacious play areas are designed to encourage exploration and movement, allowing children to release energy, improve motor skills, and most importantly, have fun. By incorporating active play into daily routines, we support children’s physical health, boost their mood, and help them develop a love for movement that will last a lifetime.

Learning

Our graduates are overprepared for Kindergarten. Thanks to our holistic approach, they transition smoothly into the next stage of their education, with the confidence and skills they need to succeed.

Center play and child centered activities-

During this time the children get to make choices about what activities they want to investigate. Centers include math, language, art, music, blocks, dramatic play, sensory, science, and literature. This is also a time for teachers to lead small group instruction including basic concepts, language and math skills. Teachers support children’s interests, individual milestones, and goals through intentional teaching experiences. These may include sensory activities, art activities, language, cognitive or steam, activities. An emphasis on teaching and learning takes place at this time

Circle Time

This is a time for the class to learn about the day’s activities, participate in class jobs, talk about the calendar and weather, sing songs, etc. This is also a great time for the students to practice listening skills, turn-taking, speaking in front of a group, and work on other social and communication skills. Circle time is the first learning opportunity of the day. It is a special time!

OUR PROGRAMS

Infants

12 Weeks to 12 Months

In our Infant Program, we create a warm, home-like setting where babies receive individualized care and attention. With a low teacher-to-child ratio, we ensure that every infant’s schedule, from naps to feedings, is supported while nurturing their development. Through sensory exploration, Baby Signs, and music, infants build early language skills and begin their journey toward independence, all while feeling secure and loved.

One's

12-24 Months

Our Ones Program is designed for toddlers to explore the world around them with curiosity and joy. By providing a balanced mix of indoor and outdoor activities, we support language development, social skills, and problem-solving abilities. With hands-on learning through creative play, role-playing, and early literacy activities, toddlers begin to understand and express themselves while developing essential life skills in a collaborative environment.

Two's

24-36 Months

The Twos Program at CarePlay emphasizes exploration and self-expression through hands-on experiences. With a nurturing teacher-to-child ratio, children develop responsibility, independence, and problem-solving skills through dramatic play, arts and crafts, sensory activities, and motor development. As they begin to grasp basic concepts like colors, shapes, and early literacy, they are supported in their journey toward becoming confident, curious learners.

Three's

3-4 Years

Our Preschool program for threes sparks curiosity and fosters a lifelong love of learning. Through a blend of structured activities and free exploration, preschoolers develop essential skills like letter recognition, early writing, and problem-solving. Dramatic play, arts and crafts, sensory experiences, and field trips engage children’s imaginations and social-emotional growth, while preparing them for a seamless transition to Kindergarten.

VPK

4 Years

CarePlay's VPK program prepares children for success by combining academic readiness with emotional growth. Through engaging activities, children develop foundational skills in language, math, STEAM, and social-emotional learning. They explore topics like phonics, simple machines, weather, and animals, while building creativity, confidence, and social skills. Our nurturing environment ensures that children are ready for Kindergarten and beyond

OUR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM:

In the summer months, Careplay Academy changes from a learning program to a Summer Camp in which we run a recreational program called Playcamp. We feel that children need an interruption from the academic programming, and we replace our regular programming plans with camp calendars. Each day the children will participate in the following activities, including but not limited to outdoor play, sensory play, arts & crafts, music, and special activities. We feel that this programming is consistent with conventional camps. Included in our Camp Program are special visitors and guests, in-school field trips, and extra programs. There is an additional fee to cover these extra programs. Our Camp is fantastic and is always on a waitlist!

OUR CURRICULUM: FOUR'S / VPK'S

Program Statement

The Creative Curriculum highlights its foundation in developmental theories and its focus on creating a responsive, child-centered learning environment. By integrating the ideas of key theorists such as Brazelton, Maslow, Erikson, Greenspan, Piaget, and Vygotsky, it emphasizes the importance of meeting children's basic needs, forming positive relationships, and providing opportunities for cognitive and social growth through interaction and play.

The curriculum is structured to support children's development across four main stages:

  • Social/Emotional

  • Physical

  • Cognitive

  • Language

These stages guide the goals and objectives for children’s learning, fostering independence, communication skills, critical thinking, and motor development.

Our Curriculum is organized by FIVE KEY COMPONENTS

  • Understanding children’s development

  • Creating a responsive environment

  • Identifying what children are learning

  • Supporting caregivers in their teaching roles

  • building partnerships with families

The role of the teacher is central to this framework, ensuring that each child's individual needs and interests are met through thoughtful planning and rich interactions.

Classroom environments are designed to encourage exploration and autonomy, with accessible materials and distinct learning areas that support various interests and developmental goals. Teachers are encouraged to provide diverse experiences, observe children closely, and work in partnership with families to ensure holistic development.

Overall, the curriculum promotes an integrated approach to early childhood education that recognizes the interconnectedness of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, and the vital role of the teacher in fostering a nurturing, growth-oriented environment

Here are some specific ways that we promote well-being in our program:

Play-Based
Learning

Our Program is play-based learning, the way that children naturally learn best. Play is a natural response to the environment, where children are creating, acting out roles, using their imaginations, questioning, and experimenting. They are engaged in learning through play.

Play-based learning DOES NOT mean that children play freely all day. Our staff intentionally PLAN purposeful activities and LEARNING ACTIVITIES for the children to participate in.

YOUR CHILD will LEARN MORE in a Play-Based Learning Facility than through any Montessori School, Worksheet-based Program, or Structured Learning Program

We ensure that families feel supported and that we are providing high-quality, safe, and affordable childcare to families.

Nutrition

Our menus follow Nutritional Guidelines, and we ensure that children are eating smaller, healthier, and more frequent meals throughout the day. We offer breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily. We also accommodate reasonable dietary and religious food requirements.
